Welcome to this website where we are proud
to launch the Autism Alert Card in Wiltshire.
The cards have been produced as part of a partnership involving the
Swindon branch of the National Autistic Society and Wiltshire Police.
They are available free of charge to anyone with an Autism Spectrum
Condition, so long as supporting documentation is sent.
The cards should be carried at all times and can be displayed if
someone finds themselves in a situation where they cannot easily explain
their behaviour.
It will also assist the emergency services to identify that they are
dealing with someone with autism. The card will carry the National
Autistic Society's logo as well as the Wiltshire Constabulary so they
will be easily identifiable to the emergency services.
The cards give some simple advice, the person's name and emergency
contact details.
To find out more about the card and about autism, then follow one of
the links, or you can download an application form

"Autism is not a puzzle, nor a disease. Autism is a challenge, but
certainly not a devastating one.
Autism is about having a pure heart and being very sensitive... It
is about finding a way to survive in an overwhelming, confusing world...
It is about developing differently, in a different pace and with
different leaps.
Autistic beings develop and bloom if their spirits, talents and
self-esteem are not destroyed by bullies, prejudice, 'doggie-training',
and being forced to be 'normal'."
